Buddha Bowl (Japanese)

Buddha bowl (Japanese style) with kinpira, green beans with sesame sauce, cauliflower and simmered shigureni mushrooms

The bento box is the traditional way to enjoy many different side dishes in Japan but this recipe takes the same concept into a buddha bowl! Sometimes it’s nice to enjoy a mix of everything on top of a bowl of fresh warm rice. The star of the bowl is the Shigureni style simmered medley of mushrooms in a sweet and thick savory ginger soy sauce. Accompanied by Kinpira carrots, (sautéed with mirin, sugar, and soy sauce) green beans mixed with sesame sauce, and charred cauliflower with Aurora sauce, this bowl is packed with traditional and delicious flavors!
